Ever have a rough day? You probably answered yes. How about hundreds in a row? Well, if so, the pattern might be coming from you. I have something that can change this for you, and change you.
Don’t click away. What if I’m right?

If I’m’ right and it is YOU, that is excellent news. If it’s you, then you have all the power! Brook Castillo from The Life Coach School crafted “The Model” years ago and created her entire coaching empire around it. Many of the famous Life Coaches that you hear of were trained at her school and with this model. Ready for the model?

Circumstance > Thought > Feeling > Action > Result

That is it. When you understand that in any situation you have a circumstance. The circumstance is factual, doesn’t have an opinion and is out of your control. An example would be, “There is a wet towel on the ground in my teenager’s bathroom” Now we get to create a thought about it. It can be whatever we want. First, we might think, “My teenager is lazy. He doesn’t care that I’ve asked him not to do that. He doesn’t appreciate me.”

Now with those thoughts we have decided to have, we start to have feelings regarding them. We can feel hurt, unappreciated, and angry. Now with all this pushing us forward we can implement some decisive actions. You can yell at your child. Adding lots of chores to his list to do. Refusing to talk him to the mall because he never appreciates you.

Let’s examine the result. It could be that you both started yelling and now can’t remember what the original conversation was about. It could be slammed doors and angry hearts and both of you feeling unheard. It could also be that the towel is still on the floor. Do you want a different result? Probably. Since it all started with your “thought”, you can go back to that part of the model and rework them. Try out a different thought that might give you a new and better result.

It takes lots of work, but it’s like MAGIC.
